Prevalence of Hepatitis C
The Real Prevalence of Hepatitis C has always been about 1% in the UK
Hepatitis C is globally 80% a healthcare contamination some 200 million people contracted Hepatitis C from their healthcare providers.
In the UK the virus has been effectively hidden along with its old name transfusion hepatitis. There is a tendency in the UK to assume Hepatitis C is 90% "for" People who Inject Drugs, this cover up completely ignores the fact that only 13 million people worldwide are known by the World Health Organisation to inject drugs, see http://www.who.int/hiv/topics/idu/en/ so at the most Injecting Drugs accounts for 4% of the 200 million known to have contracted Hepatitis C.
So 1 in 35 humans caught Hepatitis C from their doctors via contaminated blood or healthcare, this is the basic math.

has noted that in 2015 over 170,000 blood tests in all NHS venues that we are 1.7% Hepatitis C infected as a nation.
With adjustments for people with Hepatitis C needing and presenting more often for care this means of UK hepatitis C prevalence of at least 0.85%, and this terrible figure will be mainly victims of contaminated blood from here and overseas.
Basically as fast as our 300,000 NHS survivors have died they have been replaced by new ones migrating in. While hundreds of thousands of blood tests show 600,000 people have hepatitis C in the UK
our health service is still clinging to a guesstimate of 220,000 infections while covering up the Sentinel blood tests.
When questioned 12 times in the Commons about the Sentinel figures in 2014 our Government repeatedly refused to acknowledge them and has since archived all figures before 2010. Which were rather worse.
