Contaminated Blood Tools for GP's

Contaminated Blood Tools for GP's

We have a suite of Diagnostic Posters, Fact sheets, Diagnostic Charts, Pre and Post Test Counseling Sheets and a manual to help GP's deal with Contaminated Blood causing Hepatitis B and C. When survey monkeyed after the pilot usage 350 practices either agreed or strongly agreed that are very needed.

The manual below has a chapter detailing all the risks from the major NHS transmission routes allowing GP's to safety test Dialysis patients, pre 1991 Surgery patients, pre 1991 C-section mums, pre 1991 Transfusion patients at the known 1 in 40 HCV infected rate, Transplant patients to date and the pre 1991 blood product cohorts of patients.

Sadly 90% of blood recipients are usually unaware of the fact being in surgery at the time or receiving units as injections or via opaque or yellow bag drips, so it is very much for GP's to put up the warnings and access the risk.  Like many bewildering aspects of the UK contaminated blood cover up, in Scotland it is admitted testing all pre 1991 surgery patients is needed after their Lord Penrose Inquiry, yet in Northern Ireland, England and Wales the aim is still to let them die as quickly as possible untested and unwarned.
