France has been massively honest about its contaminated blood problem, freely admitting that 60% of Hepatitis C infections stopped when they began to screen their blood supply for Hepatitis C. 

Simple honesty not seen in the UK.  They rapidly have worked hard to find some 300,000 infected patients also.  They used exactly the same process for getting blood as the UK.

Imagine just 22 kilometers away a nation reacted properly to the emergence of the Hepatitis C test and imprisoned the culprits and admitted its 3.5% transfusion infection level had caused 450,000 HCV contaminated blood transfusions in 1991.  Here our Department of Health still publishes a "Dream Guesstimate" of 30,000 in 2017.
